Ethan and I were recently looking at Michael’s for Pinewood Derby car supplies that he needed, when I stopped to look at the dollar bins.  It’s hardly ever that I can’t find SOMETHING good in those bins, but this time I was absolutely blown away.

In those bins, I saw Lunchbox Love® cards.

It thrilled me to see a product on the market that equipped parents to offer love, encouragement and fun for kids by featuring positive messages and fun trivia on every card!  Place them in lunch boxes, backpacks, binders, or on pillows. What a wonderful way for parents to connect with their kids, especially when families like mine are struggling to communicate more effectively.

Would you like to see a sample?  Click on the picture to the right to view a larger image of some of the cards included in Volume One.

They’re adorable, aren’t they?  I love them so much, I am offering Volumes One and Two for one lucky reader!  To throw your name into the “hat”, just leave a quick comment below telling me what your greatest joy has been as a parent so far.

Here’s how you can earn more entries:

You’ll need to leave a comment for each entry (one comment for your “comment”, one comment for following us on Twitter, one comment for following LBL on Twitter, etc).  I’ll pull the winner via random.org on Friday, January 22, 2010 at noon ET.

  2. These look awesome, but the postage to send them to Canada would be a killer, so I won’t enter your contest. Looks like a great product, and fun way to send some love to your kids. Reusable, too!

My greatest joy so far? There are so many–from the first cry to the first smile, to the scent of their skin to the first lost tooth.

I am a fan on FB. The greatest joy as a parent is when you teach them something and then they can do it themselves. It brings a big smile to their face and to my face.

  16. I love seeing my little guy smile when I walk into a room. It makes my heart sing every time.

  19. I think my greatest joy as a parent is seeing my daughter & her father playing together, or snuggling. It might also be when she first said mama! Or when she was first born & pulled right up onto my chest — that first moment was certainly wonderful!

  20. My greatest joy would be hard to peg since I have 5 of all various ages… I love their smiles, when I see a true happy smile over a small insignificant thing- so natural and awesome! At any age it is pure joy to see my children happy! Seeing them grow into young adults is a joy although, painful to see them getting older and more independent. Remembering them as babies and toddlers and seeing them now… It is overwhelming. It is hard to speak on one pure joy when you have more than one and so many years to reflect on…

  21. My absolute greatest joy being a first time mom is to be able to watch my baby girl learn, grow and develop. It’s amazing how fast they learn and I love to be a part of the process.

i don’t have a twitter account; however, I blogged about it on my mommy blog:

My daughter moved out and is living on her own. She still calls regularly and we are very much still a major part of her life. I am proud to say we did a great job raising her.

Hey, while browsing thru Michael’s Craft Store, I found these cute little cards! Perfect tools for teaching kids about ‘Mannerism’ & Socialization & Behaviorial skills. I use them as teaching material for our ‘Star Bright’ incentive/skill for the day. And the kids really like the, ‘Did You Know’ information – they’re great for many other ‘teachable moments’. Smart, Simple & Satisfying!
