My son is NOT a hard rocker
Ethan loves to play with objects and pretend they’re something else. Usually, it’s the long, skinny paper towel rolls that end up being used as pretend shotguns or telescopes. paper folded origami-style that turns into an animal… he’s a typical boy, right? So, I was not surprised when I saw him playing with my windshield scraper, using it as a guitar.
I imagined him rockin’ it out with the likes of Guns ‘N Roses, and asked him if he wanted to do a video with him as the guitar player. He emphatically agreed, and I played “Sweet Child O’ Mine” so he could hear what my “vision” was. He hated it. He absolutely hated it! All he wanted to do was lip sync and play guitar with Green Day’s “Good Riddance”. “Yeah, okay,” I told him, and we found the song online. I prepared to record his act.
This is what I got:

Ethan Friday
No, he’s not my monkey, but it’s funny anyway. Happy Black Friday.

Another Ethan Friday
My son is all-boy, no doubt about it. One particular instance of this truth being revealed: a trip taken sometime last year to Costco.
I guess Ethan had gone over to the condiment counter and attempted to put some stuff on his hot dog when a lady noticed he was having trouble. She tried to assist him by pumping the mustard from the container onto Ethan’s hot dog, and I didn’t think anything of it until he sat down next to me and started eating. This picture was taken at the moment I realized that he was fighting with the hot dog, and the hot dog was winning!
“Sweet baby Jesus,” I said, “would you like some hot dog with that mustard??” Ethan laughed (of course) while I shook my head in disbelief and handed him several napkins. When he finished eating, I sent him straight to the bathroom to clean up – his face and hands were so gross!
What is it with boys? At least he enjoyed the hot dog.

It’s Ethan Friday!
Today is the first installment of Ethan Friday. Here he is telling a joke (doesn’t his haircut look nice?):
